The day has Come for the Battle

This day, December 6, 2008. The most aweited and spectacular battle " The Dream Match " has come between Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya. The venue of the fight is at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas. I blog today because I want to take a part of the boxing history. The biggest fighter of the world Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao. They will fight for the honor of both country not only for the sake of the sport competition. A huge prize to be and most of all who will be the greatest and strongest fighter in the world among the two. So, today I will pray for Manny Pacquiao my fellow Filipino and to support him to give him strength in the ring and the courage fo winning. I hope Manny can give most of his strenght to win the game. Good luck Manny! You can do it.

Dream Match Awaited!!!

In what could go down as one of the greatest boxing matches in the history of the sport. Both fighters will meet at a catch weight of 147 pounds which requires Dela Hoya to drop to a weight he hasn’t fought at in close to ten years while at the same time forcing Pacquiao to move up two full weight classes.

Both fighters who are well renown for their success in multiple weight divisions will test their mettle in a battle for stereotypical title of being called greatest pound for pound fighter. Dela Hoya currently has the edge on Pacquiao, owning six division championships to Pacquiao’s five.
The fight scheduled to be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on December 6th, has already started a huge buzz among boxing fans around the world and moments after its official announcement, the phone lines for reservations were buzzing with calls.

I think this is a huge boost for the sport of boxing which has been in serious decline over the past few years. With the rise of mixed martial arts as the worlds most dominant combat sport, its nice to see boxing take back the center stage if only for a moment.

Although I do have my doubts about Pacquiao’s ability to compete with a fighter so much bigger and stronger than he is, I’m going with my Filipino heritage and cheering on Pacquiao to shock the world!I will provide behind-the-scenes access, along with interviews, as two surefire Hall of Famers prepare for one of boxing's most intriguing bouts.
